About Prof. Muhittin Gökmen, who leads the development of AI-CAM model:

Prof. Muhittin Gökmen is one of Turkey’s pioneering academics in the field of artificial intelligence. He began his graduate studies in the U.S. in 1986, working on AI and computer vision and serving as the principal investigator of a DARPA-funded AI project.

After returning to Turkey in 1992, he launched AI and computer vision courses at Istanbul Technical University (ITU), educating thousands of students over more than 30 years. His research has been published in top international journals, and he has led numerous national and international projects.

In 2004, he founded Divit, the first faculty-established company at ITU Arı Teknokent, developing one of Turkey’s first AI-based technology products. As one of the founding faculty members of MEF University, he currently serves as Vice Rector for Research.
